The mini rendezvous at Port Browning, Pender Island, is fast approaching! Here are some details you may want to know.
For those traveling into Canada from the states, the nearest port of entry is Poets Cove, Bedwell Harbour, just south of Browning, on Pender Island. To get to Browning from there, you can head North through “The Cut” , a small channel that goes under the bridge between North and South Pender. This is pretty fun but can be intimidating, check your favorite guide like Waggoners for details. We will be on hand to assist with docking. Please hail the marina on 66A and they will give you your slip assignment and someone will meet you there. Most of the boats will be on the southmost “Hammerhead” dock, but, due to this being a popular event, some boats will need to be moored in the main marina area.
The Pender Islands (and most of the Gulf Islands) have very little available water, and as such, there usually isn’t water available on the dock. You probably want to make sure your water tanks are full before arriving. There is potable water to be had at the head of the dock for filling jugs etc.
We will be having a potluck appetizer and drinks gathering under the tent on Friday at 4:30. Please bring a snack or appy to share.
On Saturday, PaNNTOA will be hosting a barbeque in the bistro, adjacent to the marina office. Please let me know if you have any dietary restrictions. There is also a shopping center a few kilometers from the marina that has all the essentials plus some.
