Commodore – Stu Clark

I am honored to be Commodore of the Pacific Northwest Nordic Tug group – especially since my wife and I are new members of the Nordic Tug family. I have boated since I was 12 years old, with both sail and power, and, I have lived aboard sailboats in the Bahamas, Florida, and Annapolis, Maryland. In my lifetime, I have worked in radio and television, been an accredited marine surveyor with SAMS, held a 50-ton offshore master’s license, and taught middle school for 30 years.

Sue and I now own a Nordic 39, our first Nordic Tug. Her name is Emmy Lou III, honoring our late mothers. We enjoy extended cruising with our four rescue dogs. The tug is outfitted with amateur radio equipment, ham radio being one of my hobbies. As a club officer, in addition to the current responsibilities of being the Commodore, I would like to explore the creation of a forum on the PaNNTOA website which would be devoted to the discussion of radio communications on boats (HF,VHF, UHF, Ham), basic electronics & practices, and mentorship for those wanting to obtain their amateur radio license.
